What colleges have you attended?
My post-secondary education began at Okanagan and Caribou Colleges, both located in beautiful British Columbia.
My time at Okanagan and Caribou College was absolutely foundational. Without those experiences, I wouldn’t have developed the critical thinking, research skills, and structured approach necessary to tackle any writing project, let alone finally bring to life the science fiction story that had been simmering in my mind for two decades.

My time in college, while not directly focused on creative writing, proved to be an invaluable training ground for my literary pursuits. The rigorous research required for my psychology papers honed my analytical skills, enabling me to construct intricate plotlines and develop complex characters for my science fiction novel, Guardians of Humanity

Simultaneously, my cultural culinary courses provided a profound understanding of the intricate connections between food, culture, and identity. They explored how culinary traditions are shaped by geography, history, social customs, and even spiritual beliefs, giving me a much richer perspective on the diverse culinary landscape of Canada, which I later translated into “Canadian Recipes of the Great White North.“
It was in those lecture halls and library stacks that the seeds of both my culinary and science fiction narratives were sown, nurtured, and ultimately brought to fruition. Fueled by the exploration of ideas in college, I embarked on a writing odyssey. My stories traverse the fantastical realms of science fiction, constantly seeking a bridge to our reality. College or University is an important step to take after high school; it broadens your mind as an adult instead of a high school student.
