Our Stay at Fairmont Hotel MacDonald was excellent with each staff member working as a team to make our stay comfortable. We were celebrating our 45th Anniversary, including my birthday.
The food and service was spot on , including the wonderful surprise in our room of a rose petal heart on the large King size bed. Our River Valley view made the added upgrade worth its weight in gold.
We left the room to explore the Victoria style courtyard ; when we came back , we were once again surprised with a presentation of assorted chocolates and sweets in a cute glass dome on the side table. Superb !
We decided to splurge on Valet Parking, as it was extremely convenient with friendly helpful service. It really does remove the worry of where to park ; I would highly suggest it !
We stayed in an upgraded suite ( Room 521) with bedroom showcasing a King size bed and cute living room separated by French doors. Please see my video for the full exclusive tour and walk through.
The courtyard was well executed closer to hotel MacDonald , but could use some landscape architectural placement of greenery along the outside fringes of its property overlooking the River Valley, including a well placed Victorian-style black iron fence , adding that extra touch ; a broader approach than the simple aesthetics.
The other suggestion I would make ; maybe update their pool and Health Spa, as it’s old-school. At the moment, it’s a self-serve facility with your typical rectangular pool with adjoining hot tub and exercise room off in the corner. With such spectacular River Valley views, I would capitalize on this , by providing an Infinity-styled Pool overlooking the courtyard, including acoustically-rated partitions for privacy, glass walls for natural light and transparency, and custom walls to add to the architectural signature of Fairmont Hotel MacDonald. In the spring and summer months, provide a mini-lounge station atheistically placed just outside the custom folding doors. Incorporate lounge chairs throughout with an up charge to reserve a comfy lounger for your own personal use.
During cocktail hour I decided on a couple of drinks at the Confederation Lounge in the comfortable setting within the Fairmont’s luxury signature you see throughout North America; like Banff Springs .
That evening we indulged in table side dinner within the privacy of our room. The server provided us with that extra personal touch to our in-room dining experience. Included in our package the next day, we partake in a wonderful breakfast.
The grand total , including Valet Parking and overall taxes came to $621 for an evening of amazing luxury. ( Please see video ) Not bad for fun filled luxurious stay at Fairmont Hotel MacDonald .
The overall experience at Fairmont Hotel MacDonald is indeed worth that special occasion to indulge in yourself and loved ones. The experienced servers/ staff made our stay even more special. I would highly recommend the beautifully architectural designed and prestigious luxury hotel part of the corporate Fairmont family.
