Get Ready for a Flavor Explosion! “Eggroll in a Bowl”
This isn’t just any dinner, folks! I’m talking about “Eggroll in a Bowl,” and let me tell you, it’s a flavor sensation! 💥
This dish is packed with goodness. I used ground turkey, but feel free to get creative! I combined it with a medley of fresh veggies, including my own shredded cabbage. And here’s the secret weapon: fresh garlic and, oh my goodness, fresh ginger! This dynamic duo adds a zing that’ll have your taste buds singing. 🎶
Yields: 4 servings Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
• 1 lb ground turkey
• 1 tablespoon sesame oil
• 1 onion, chopped
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 (14 ounce) package coleslaw mix
• 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced (divided)
• 1 tablespoon soy sauce
• Sriracha sauce, to taste
Instructions
1. Cook the Turkey:
◦ Heat 1 tablespoon sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
◦ Add ground turkey and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
◦ Remove the cooked turkey from the skillet and set aside.
2. Sauté Vegetables:
◦ In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
◦ Add the minced garlic and half of the minced ginger. Cook for 1 minute more.
◦ Add the coleslaw mix and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender-crisp, about 10 minutes.
3. Combine and Season:
◦ Return the cooked turkey to the skillet.
◦ Stir in the remaining minced ginger and soy sauce.
◦ Cook for 1-2 minutes more to combine flavors.
4. Serve:
◦ Divide the Eggroll in a Bowl among bowls.
◦ Top each serving with sriracha sauce to taste.
Tips:
• For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the skillet while cooking the turkey.
• Serve with steamed rice or quinoa for a complete meal.
• Feel free to customize this recipe by adding other vegetables such as carrots, bell peppers, or water chestnuts.
Enjoy your delicious and healthy Eggroll in a Bowl!
Be sure to add a dash of Kikkoman soya sauce and serve. In my opinion it’s vital to dress the top with sriracha to add a wonderful spice and just the right amount of heat.
Cheers !
