Hot Sauces

Hot sauces have been around long before Ketchup came to your table. In fact, it’s the world’s most popular condiment, even though North Americans favourite condiment will always be Heinz Ketchup.

Today’s most popular hot sauces are :

Sriracha

Tabasco

Franks RedHot

Cholula

Each of the above sauces have their own unique flavour where they have fans who believe, their brand is the best amongst the rest. It comes down to personal taste, appearances, flavour and type of heat it kicks out. To me, all the above hot sauces have the same heat, just different flavours. As well, each one has a different procedure of processing their hot sauce. It’s from fermentation, vinegar induced and aging in barrels. Each one will also have their brand of hot peppers to cultivate.

The question is : Which one do you enjoy the most ?

As a male species, you get a group of guys who want to outdo the others, when it comes to trying hot peppers 🌶️. This is where women prevail common sense over their male counterparts. Men’s testosterone get in the way of common sense — lol. Be it medium or scorching heat, men tend to be dodobirds, trying to outsmart their friends by eating the hottest sauce or pepper ; in the end, no one wins. The correct way to enjoy hot sauce is to simply put a little onto your favourite dish to enhance the FLAVOUR — that’s it. It’s not to swallow a ghost pepper and end up in the hospital— lol.

We chefs use all kinds of hot sauces, spices and dry chillies to enhance our dishes, giving it its name. All the hot sauces above, I use most of the time, each giving me a new exciting flavour to my inspirational dish.
