Resorts World Las Vegas Review

Resorts World Infinity Pool

Resorts World open on June 24 2021 costing a grand total of 4.3 billion. To date it’s the most expensive resort property ever built in Las Vegas. Located on the North side of the Vegas Strip and kitty corner to their rival, The Wynn, Las Vegas. Both properties have been battling each other ever since Resorts World started their build. Apparently, The Wynn sued Resorts World over their building design, stating too similar to The Wynn and Encore, way back in 2018.

Resorts World Las Vegas

Staying at Encore in 2022, we had to check out the new resort on the block, to see who is the best of the best. Will it be The Wynn or Resorts World? This year we decided to spend seven days at Resort World Las Vegas to compare the two.

So, in August 2023 we booked our flight and room to Resorts World, Las Vegas.

Resorts World Las Vegas 2023

Driving up via Uber to the CONRAD Driveway at Resorts World, we arrived around 8:00 pm viewing the towering red resort, comprised of three hotels : The Hilton, Conrad and Crocksford. Indeed ! The first impressions were stunning, including the Conrad Lobby, featuring its own private bar and wide open spaced entrance. Even though it’s already two years old, this resort still gave out that fresh new smell, showcasing stunning architecture and modern facilities. Our check in was seamless and fast !

Our Conrad room was located on the 25th floor overlooking the Vegas Strip with an impressive pool oasis, featuring nine pools, one whirlpool and a private High Roller pool and suite, located at the base of the Hilton Tower. The Premium Conrad Room was a step up from the Hilton rooms, showcasing luxury bathrooms, displaying an elaborate modern large shower, featuring a huge rain shower fixture and a place to sit down, if required. Sorry, no bathtub for Conrad. The bathroom vanity featured an impressive “D” formation styled light, double sinks and tons of room for two people. I also love the fact, the water-closet (toilet) was separate and divided with a privacy plexiglass door ; super nice touch. The bathroom is a welcoming luxurious touch ; certainly won brownie points for us !

The overall room was spacious with an average King sized bed. The mattress looked promising but unfortunately wasn’t as comfortable as The Wynn’s bedding. That being said, some may find it just right.

Pool Oasis at Resorts World Las Vegas

The Pool Oasis

The overall pool oasis was well laid out with functioning pools, including the infinity pool. The infinity pool is luxurious featuring its own private sit up bar with comfortable chairs around a relaxing setting. The infinity pool is for guests 21 years and older ; hence no children allowed in this area. This particular feature was rewarding, as each of the other pools were flooded with an array of kids. So it was nice to have a more private spot, like the infinity pool.

What to know about the Infinity Pool

First and foremost, any adult guest is allowed into this pool area without having to purchase a daybed, lounge chair or Cabana. HOWEVER — if you want a lounge chair, daybed or Cabana, you must pay for it, as an extra. Just the lounge chairs will cost you $200 per person, with half ( $100 each ) going towards beverages and food. This being said, any adult can swim into the infinity pool at no extra cost, they just can’t have a place to lounge. You can buy drinks at the bar and then wade in the infinity pool and then come out and sit by the bar. First come, first served. The view from the infinity pool is still in construction phase, so just be aware the view isn’t that stunning, as of yet. But that will soon change, and you still have a wonderful view of The Wynn and Encore, plus if you look downward south, you see the Vegas Strip. I am sure this area will become a stunning view in the near future.

The Drinks at Resorts World Pool Oasis

All the alcoholic drinks are expensive, like any resort on the Vegas Strip. The price starts at $14.95 to $36.00 US ; that’s $20 – $42 for us Canadians, not including tax ! Yikes 😬

The Food at Resorts World

“The District” area featured high-end fine dining for your evening pleasure. Just be willing to pay $185 – $300 per person, depending on your inspirational fine dining experience. I highly suggest these restaurant selections for fine dining :

BREZZA — Embracing the traditions of Italy, Brezza features a menu of modern coastal Italian fare.

CARVERSTEAK — A lively and modern steakhouse headlined by dry-aged American cuts and Japanese-certified wagyu steaks.

GENTING PALACE — Guests step into old-world glamour at Genting Palace, a culinary gem with authentic Chinese cuisine.

FUHU — high-energy, experiential dining venue with an unexpected twist on contemporary Asian cuisine.

In the morning we had breakfast at “The Kitchen” which is consistent and flavourful, including a daily brunch. The only thing I would suggest is to change their breakfast buffet on a daily basis. Otherwise it was the place to go in the morning. Another favourable spot to have a quick breakfast is at “ Suns Out Buns Out “ .

Unfortunately, both morning restaurants aren’t open past 1:00 pm, meaning dinner is either fine dining or the unpopular Famous Foods Street Eats eating choices, which I can’t recommend at all. The Famous Food Street Eats is a quick food kiosk where you fend for yourself on a digital kiosk, trying to place your order. You have a choice of Asian, Chicken and burgers to Mexican quick eats, served in a styrofoam containers you would expect at McDonalds. To make it worse, the prices are outrageously high for McDonalds type of foods.

The Nachos served by DAWG HOUSE SALOON and the supposedly famous food Michos Taco kiosk have the worst nachos I have ever had in my life. Both were this soggy messy of limp corn nachos drowned in a mixture of salsa, sour cream and whatever else they threw into it, with very little cheese. At DAWG House Saloon, the Nachos are served in this plastic quick serve container costing us $18 for soggy slop ; and their craft beer served in small plastic cups, cost us $15 each. Outrageous pricing for terrible food. I thought for sure they would serve craft beer in a frosty tall beer glass. Instead we received warm beer in a plastic cup — go figure ! I was so looking forward to DAWG House Saloon because of the cowboy theme. Such a disappointment.

In the far south end of the District you can find Mulberry Pizza 🍕 which is ok. However, it’s only open Thursday—Sunday. We went on Thursday to try it out at 12 Noon and it was closed until 4:00 pm , a far cry from their hours posted on Resorts World website, stating :

Thursday – Friday 11:00 am – 4:00 am.

With what I saw, they already have had some failed attempts by food kiosks and the ones left behind aren’t much better. Resorts World has to rethink the food kiosk called Famous Foods Street Eats concept with their annoying electronic paying kiosks that rarely work at all. What makes it worse, the only supper option is fine dining, which can be expensive everyday. My suggestion is to keep “The Kitchen” open until 10:00 pm offering dinner selections, like Grand Lux Cafe at The Venetian. Hence our daily evening walks to Grand Lux Cafe during our seven day stay.

In Conclusion:

Resorts World hotels, The Hilton, Conrad and Crocksford are all exceptional resorts in itself and if it weren’t about the food, I would call this place home.

Nevertheless, when the dinner bell rings, we all can’t expect to head to fine dining every night. Twice a week is fine but not the duration of your stay. It’s just too expensive for your average hardworking tourist. Don’t count on room service to solve your problems either. It’s an automatic robot system where your call pretty much means nothing is done. For example, we had to go to the Front Desk Lobby four times, to let them know the Ice Machine isn’t working. We tried using their automated system and were completely frustrated. Trust me, room service doesn’t exist. There’s isn’t a real person on the other line when you pick up that phone in your room.

For having food ordered to your room they use an App called “ On-the-Fly” Grubhub. The app is useful and a great addition to Resorts World but I would strongly suggest you order food favourites from outside the resort to your room then using in-house from the questionable Famous Food Street Eats. The Grubhub can also be used poolside too.

It’s all a complete shame because the three modern hotels within Resorts World have awesome five star rooms. Sounds to me they need a Chef Consultant for the food kiosk on this one. I won’t be back at Resorts World anytime soon due to their lack of affordable restaurants within the overall resort. At this point, The Wynn and Encore will be my home-away-from-home.

Cheers !
