Family Size Pizza Dough Recipe

When you have a big family like I do, a Family Size Pizza Dough Recipe is your go-to recipe. This recipe will easily feed 6-10 guests.
Who’s ready to get their hands in some dough? I’m talking about a classic, a Friday night favorite, and a dish that brings everyone together—pizza! Nothing beats the taste of homemade dough, fresh out of the oven, topped with all your favorite things. Forget takeout; let’s get into the kitchen and create some magic. I’m sharing my EZZY PEEZY PIZZA DOUGH recipe. It’s the perfect way to spend time with the family and make something delicious from scratch.

Let’s Make Pizza

Family Size Pizza Dough Recipe

This recipe is family size and can make three large sheet-pan style pizzas or six medium round pizzas.
Yield: 6–8 guests
Ingredients:

  • 3 ¾ cups of lukewarm water
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 6 tablespoons of active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup of canola oil
  • 7 ½ cups of Bread flour or 00 flour
  • 6 teaspoons of salt
  • Optional: 3 tablespoons of Semolina

  • Method:
  • In a large bowl, sift the 7 ½ cups of flour. Add the 6 teaspoons of salt and the optional 3 tablespoons of Semolina, then mix well.
  • Take your lukewarm water (no higher than 110°F). Stir in the 3 tablespoons of sugar and sprinkle in the 6 tablespoons of yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes. (Tip: Use your mixer bowl so you don’t have to transfer it later).
  • After 10 minutes, attach your dough hook, if you haven’t already. Start the mixer on low and add the ¾ cup of canola oil to the yeast mixture.
  • Now, slowly add the flour and salt mixture. Combine and mix for 10 minutes. The dough should look stretchy and elastic. Using a mixer is much easier than kneading by hand, as my grandpa Varze always did. Just use your mixer and make your life easier!
  • Transfer your dough into a large oiled bowl and cover it with a dry cloth. Let it rise in a warm area until it has doubled in size (approximately 45–60 minutes, depending on how cold your kitchen is).
  • Lay the pizza dough out onto a counter and form it. Cut it into three large balls and let them rest for 15 minutes under a dry cloth.
  • Begin forming your pizza into a sheet pan pizza (like I do in my video) or form it into six balls to make individual medium round pizzas. The choice is yours!
