Craving a pasta dinner that’s more than just meh? It’s time to dive into the world of homemade pasta sauces. These six classics are sure to tantalize your taste buds and impress your guests.
The Six Pasta Sauces are :
1. Pesto Sauce – fresh, herbaceous delight made with fresh basil, minced garlic, olive oil, pine nuts, and a touch of salt and pepper.
2. Authentic Carbonara Sauce – Rich and creamy, this Italian staple features pancetta ( bacon) , minced garlic, egg yolks, Parmesan Reggiano, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper
3. Alfredo Sauce – A buttery, cheesy dreamboat that’s perfect for a comforting meal, starting with butter, minced garlic , cream , Parmigiana Reggiano cheese, Parmesan Cheese,Italian Seasoning , Salt and Pepper ( easy on the salt) ; add cook fettuccine to mixture.

4. Marinara Sauce – A classic tomato-based sauce with a hint of garlic and herbs ; starts with sautéed onions in oil, minced garlic, canned tomatoes ( If you can, look for “Pomodoro San Marzano dell’Agro Sarnese Nocerino D.O.P.” ) , Oregano or Italian seasoning ( Costco has the best Italian seasoning) , Salt and pepper to taste ( easy on the salt).
5. Arrabbriata Sauce ( a favourite sauces at my restaurants) – A spicy twist on marinara, featuring red chili flakes for a fiery kick ; starts with sautéed onions in canola oil, canned Tomatoes ( Again – If you can, look for “Pomodoro San Marzano dell’Agro Sarnese Nocerino D.O.P.” ) , Red dry Chilis (careful, they can have a “kick” to it. 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon at the most )
6. Béchamel Sauce – A versatile white sauce that’s the foundation for many other sauces ( a universal Mother sauce). Begin with butter, flour, salt and pepper and warm milk.
